It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable soul, Ponnampalam Panchadcharam, who departed this world on September 1, 2023, in London, United Kingdom. He was born in Inuvil, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and his life journey took him from the tranquil streets of Inuvil to the bustling embrace of London.

Ponnampalam Panchadcharam was not just a name; it was a legacy intertwined with the very heart of Inuvil. He was the beloved grandson of Appakkutty, the visionary founder of Inuvil Central College, a beacon of

Education that continues to illuminate the path of countless young minds. He was the embodiment of his family’s heritage, and he carried their legacy

forward with unwavering dedication.

As the eldest son of Ponnampalam and Nagamma, Ponnampalam

Panchadcharam was the cornerstone of his family’s strength and the pillar of support for all who knew him. His boundless love and devotion extended to his late wife, the revered teacher Shanmugavadivu, with whom he shared a profound companionship that transcended time.

Ponnampalam Panchadcharam’s love knew no bounds, as evidenced by his role as a loving father to his seven children spread across the globe. From the United States to Canada, France to Australia, his children, Premalatha, Rajini, Krishnakumar, Kausala, Shanthini, Pathmalojini, and Vasavan, were recipients of his unwavering care and guidance. He embraced the role of

father-in-law with open arms, forming meaningful connections with Dr Chelvakumar, Chandralingam, Rajeswary, Anandarajah, Sarvananda,

Srikanthalingam (Srikanth), and Gnanusha.

Ponnampalam Panchadcharam was the beloved brother of late Rajaluxmy, Mangaleswary and Sivarajah and Rajaluxmy as well as the brother-in-law of late Dr Subramaniyam,and Lankathevi, Kanagasabapathy, Navukarasi, Parimalakanthy, Dr Ilankanarayanan, Vijayalakshmi, Kanchanamala, Thangalakshmi, Yogambikai and Gnanambikai.

He was also a loving uncle for Rohini, Sudhaar, Venuganan, Subaveena, Genga, Vidhyakari, Hariharan, Gobiharan and Harshananth.

Ponnampalam Panchadcharam was also a beloved grandfather who held a special place in the hearts of Dr Gayathri, Dr Meenatchi, Nithyaram, Thulasiram, Shankararam, Arahby, Abeeschan, Arany, Arunan, Luksume.

Sriluxman, Sriraaman, Acktshan and the loving great grandfather of late Vailan and Akai Nila, Neel, Dev, Ishara, and Rudra.
